John Samaras is an American singer-songwriter from Little Neck, New York. He is locally known for his intimate compositions based around delicate acoustic guitar work and emotive chord progressions.
“Tilting The Scales” from the album “Trapeze Smile” is an intelligent acoustic song where melodic compositions just stick in your ears and don’t want to get out of there. It perfectly combines a light pop sound with an acoustic guitar and seemingly incompatible inclusions of violins with their viscous and haze-like sound.
John Samaras, oddly enough, can not be attributed to indie pop or folk music, he exist on their own and easily refuse those features that prevail in modern music. In any case, “Tilting The Scales” sounds fascinating and deserves a detailed listening. John’s music is available to everyone, but with its own secrets, mysticism and hidden rituals.
