Rusholme make music with a unique flavor and their debut single ‘Dreams’ is full of powerful guitar riffs, unstoppable drum parts and fat bass guitar sound.
Sam’s (lead singer) powerful rock vocals are the focus of the song. Her voice surprises with strength, but at the same time remains soft and gentle. ‘Rusholme’ aims to give the track an absolutely rhythmic, straightforward pop-rock sound, and it’s a pretty good decision. With ‘Dreams’ the band shows that they have a lot to offer vocally, instrumentally and production-wise.
However, the highlight is Sam’s voice, and when you hear it, you understand that she’s ready to defend the rock genre and going wild at every opportunity. Rusholme’s music may at first glance remind you of artists like Avril Lavigne, Evanescence, Within Temptation, but they are well on their way to building a world all their own. All I have to say is that this is a strong debut that introduces a band I hope to hear more from.
