Cornwall based indie duo, Our Atlantic Roots (Mac and Laura Johnston), bring an uplifting blend of American & British alt-folk, with harmonies that are rich, dynamic and unite beautifully.
The married duo present a blend of the cultures they are individually from, by merging various genres characterized by their country and folk roots. With a growing fanbase since their popular 2019 release ‘Little Bird’, and with over a million streams on Spotify alone, the duo’s coming release in summer 2022 is bound to turn heads.
‘Under The Sun’ is for fans of indie/folk and cinematic-americana and has some alt-country undertones. The song builds and swells with a driving electric guitar that has an almost gritty western/desert feel but still has that classic indie/folk vibe with sweet vocal harmonies. The production skills are impressive and the vocal mixing is excellent. I really love duo’s writing abilities and can’t wait to see where their career will go over the coming year.
