The night was alive with the sound of raindrops, a soft pattering that echoed through the alleys of the city. The dampness clung to everything, enveloping the streets in a thick fog that obscured the distant skyscrapers. In the midst of it all, a solitary figure moved with purpose, her dark raincoat shielding her from the elements.
The girl’s steps were slow and deliberate, the sound of her shoes splashing through puddles mingling with the sound of the rain. She moved through the neon glow of the city, the vibrant hues casting a surreal glow on everything they touched. As she walked, a haunting melody filled the air, a mournful saxophone crying out in the night. The girl paused, drawn to the sound, and let it wash over her. The music seemed to seep into her soul, evoking emotions she couldn’t quite name. It was both beautiful and melancholy, a bittersweet reminder of everything that had been lost. For a moment, she stood still, transfixed by the music. But as the saxophone trailed off, the girl shook herself out of her reverie and continued on her way.
This mental image came to my mind as I listened to “Lonely Executive” by Midnight Smoke. As the song drew to a close, the image faded away, leaving you with a sense of longing and a yearning for something more. It was as if the music had opened a window into a world that was both beautiful and haunting, a world that you longed to explore further. Unforgettable. Must listen.
