I’ve been keeping an eye on Saphira 79 for a while, and her music, no matter how you look at it, draws crowds of fans. But her new, long-awaited collaboration really got me hooked. Yes, Austrian musician and producer Saphira 79 has released something worthwhile again—the EP ‘Hear In Heart.’ This time, she collaborated with the Swede Johan Aspenlind, or Aspect Zero, to be precise. This mini-album is a kind of mix of Saphira 79’s favorite genres where she feels most comfortable, namely EDM and pop, each track sounding like a separate story. There are complex sonic intertwinings, an ambient that envelops like fog, and vocals that give you goosebumps.
Today, Saphira 79 marked the end of another chapter in her musical journey by releasing this record. And when I say “marked the end,” I mean that “Hear In Heart” has now been released into the world and will live a life of its own, beyond the control of its creators. It’s always interesting to wonder what artists feel at this moment—when their creation no longer belongs to them but becomes the property of the listener. Considering the success of Saphira 79 and Aspect Zero over the past year, one can only imagine that they are currently on a high, happy and excited, watching how their music resonates with people.
“Hear In Heart” surprises with its scope: from slow, almost meditative compositions that provoke thought, to rhythmic, lively tracks made for the dance floor. This release is like a journey from a tranquil evening to a scandalously wild night, where each moment is something unique and special.
The EP kicks off with the title track “Hear In Heart.” The whispering and unusual structure immediately grab attention. The gentle, almost weightless vocals soar upwards, but the gloomy arrangement creates a contrast, splitting the track into two opposing moods. Here, Saphira 79’s style is evident—she knows how to create complex, multi-layered compositions that need to be felt deeply to discover the closest atmosphere. The arrangement is rich: keyboard flourishes, almost ambient pads, and a clear, steady rhythm do their job. A great start to the release!
Next, “Your Faith In Me” dramatically changes direction—here, there’s a danceable club sound. The thick, dense bass and rhythmic pattern create an atmosphere of lightness and flight. This track allows you to forget everything and surrender to the dance. The catchy melody firmly takes its place, drawing attention, while the vocal inserts add style, making the track indispensable for radio airplay.
The passionate saxophone in the track “Immortal Love” and the romantic vocals, supported by a rhythm that seems to rock you on waves of carefreeness, create a sense of endless summer. The sound changes again, showcasing how Saphira 79 and Aspect Zero masterfully play with genres while keeping everything within a unified concept. The duet in “Immortal Love,” with its flawless dance atmosphere, seems to invite you to pause for a moment, dream, and enjoy the moment. The saxophone, which returns again and again, brings the listener back to a light, romantic mood.
The final track, “Hear In Heart-Heartbeats,” adds depth and darkness, as if it’s a continuation of the previous track, smoothly transitioning the listener into a nocturnal state. The excellent beat, pulsating like a heartbeat, draws you into the music, making it a part of you. In “Hear In Heart-Heartbeats,” misty sound textures, light experiments, and impeccable rhythm converge. The whisper comes back to the forefront, closing the circle and returning us to the beginning of the release. The sound of an alarm clock in the finale adds a conceptual layer—an attentive listener will hear a complete story through it. Perhaps it’s a story of love or a dream that has ended but left an indelible mark in memory.
All the tracks were written by Saphira 79 and Aspect Zero, but all the production work is solely on the shoulders of Saphira 79. She truly knows how to create entire worlds through her music, and “Hear In Heart” is a vivid testament to that.
Listening to this EP in its entirety, I couldn’t even envision my own created protagonist, which speaks volumes about how touching and personal the music here is. My favorite tracks are “Hear In Heart” and “Hear In Heart-Heartbeats,” but honestly, the entire record is worth diving into headfirst.
There are no filler tracks, each one captivates in its own way. This collaborative project between Saphira 79 and Aspect Zero turned out to be light, rhythmic, but with it comes something more that provokes thought. “Hear In Heart” is an EP that shouldn’t be listened to in the background. This is a case where you need to just dive in completely.
