Had Your Fun and Left a Scar — ALEIA’s Debut Hits the Sweet Spot Between Honest and Awkward

Debut single ‘Had Your Fun’ by ALEIA captures the awkward clarity of those late-night moments when you’re replaying the details of a messy date, wishing you’d said less or maybe more — but definitely something different.

ALEIA’s alt-folk-pop is charmingly rough around the edges, a style that suits her storytelling perfectly. Straight out of Perth/Boorloo, ALEIA taps into that very specific wavelength where folk sensitivity meets indie-pop’s bedroom gloss.

There’s something about the way she delivers her lines — like she’s rehearsed them in her notes app, deleted them, retyped them, then finally sung them just to get them out of her system. And it works. It really works.

I love debuts because they’re messy, eager, and full of the kind of raw energy that polished veterans forget how to tap into. ‘Had Your Fun’ is a strong first chapter, and ALEIA is already taking up permanent space in my playlists. If this is where she’s starting, I want to hear where she goes when she stops editing herself.
