What is the estimated response time for receiving an answer?
Typically, you can expect to receive a response within approximately a week, although it is possible for the wait to be longer. It’s important to consider that we receive a substantial volume of emails daily. We kindly request your patience and understanding during this process.
What is editorial consideration?
Editorial consideration is the first step of our process. A member of our team reviews your music, bio and materials to check that your project fits our standards and that we can write about it properly. This step is free, and there is no obligation to continue.
Do I have to pay for an editorial feature?
Yes. Once we’ve agreed to work together, the review, interview or article still has to be written, and the fee covers the time and work of the author who listens to your music, researches your story, writes the piece and prepares it for publication.
Will my article be published on the website and social media (including an Instagram post and collab)?
Yes.
Why isn’t coverage free?
Because writing is work. Our authors are music journalists, and listening to a release, writing an article and editing it take time and experience. That work is paid, and the fee goes directly to the author.
In return, you get a well-written review, social media publications and an SEO-optimized article. Our audience includes artists, curators, label reps, managers, PR teams and people who actually listen, so a feature on Indie Boulevard puts your music in the right hands, with clarity, purpose and reach.
If you’re looking for unpaid coverage, hobby bloggers who write about music for fun may be a good fit for a simple note about your release. If you want a professional, honest article that discusses the strengths and weaknesses of your music, and also gets wide exposure across our social media, we’d be glad to work with you.
What writing experience do we have?
Indie Boulevard has always covered new names before the world caught on. Some had millions of fans, others were just starting out – what mattered was the music. We’re united by one thing – a sharp ear for what stands out and a drive to give independent artists the spotlight they’ve earned.
Our writing style
We write about music that shapes the conversation – and we’re always looking for what’s next. If your sound carries weight, if there’s a story behind it, we want to hear it. Our style blends storytelling and editorial depth with a focus on tone, intent, and real impact.
