Backsprint are a country rock band from Belgrade, and “Impossible Contradiction” tackles an attraction that grows stronger with every attempt to fight it. Written and sung by Uroš Jojić, the single turns that exhausting emotional struggle into its central subject.
Bojan Torbica’s harmonica has a substantial role here, carrying both the middle solo and the outro. Alongside guitars from Aleksandar Petrović and Ognjen Ninković, plus Ksenija Milošević’s backing vocals, it gives the arrangement a clear instrumental focus. Letting the harmonica close the song is a particularly fitting choice for a story driven by a persistent pull.

The recording method deserves attention, too. Backsprint play complete takes together, preserving the musicians’ shared timing and performances. That commitment gives the release a concrete connection to their identity as a working band. The official video brings things back to Belgrade, using Kalemegdan’s fortress as the setting for this account of desire feeding on resistance.
