During the verses Jimi keeps his vocals under control while the musical arrangement develops gradually around him. The guitar and the light percussion accompany the story without trying to overpower it. And when the song finally expands, the emotional climax seems truly well deserved.
In addition to the songs he has already written, Jimi actively looks for opportunities to write songs and co-write them with country artists at all levels, as well as chances to expand his live audience.
The fact that he is involved in both writing and performing distinguishes him from other artists who are only interested in releasing music. “She Carried Me” is a thoughtful and well-made single from an artist who clearly knows how to exercise restraint.
